Sony BDP-S560 Review — (go wireless with your Blu-ray)

In early 2009, Sony released the BDP-S560 Blu-ray. There is a pro­file 2. 0 play­ers sup­port Bonus View / play­back pic­ture in pic­ture and BD-Live con­tent. It has a Quick Start mode, which enables Blu-ray to get started in sec­onds. It can sup­port high res­o­lu­tion audio for­mats and has a 802nd 11n for wire­less inter­net. It is basi­cally a step above the entry-level BDP-S360 Blu-ray. BDP-S560 has an attrac­tive design with a glossy black exte­rior and hints of dark gray on top and bot­tom of the player. Open / Close but­ton is located on the top left cor­ner and open the front dark blue reveal the disc tray. The switch is on the oppo­site side, near the win­dow. Other con­trols are lim­ited to read­ing the play and stop but­tons. There­fore, the dis­tance will not be nec­es­sary for the func­tions most read­ing. A USB port is located near the lower right cor­ner of the player. All con­nec­tions are behind the Blu-ray. Video Qual­ity: The BDP-S560, a num­ber of video con­nec­tions. They include an HDMI out­put, video out­put, S-Video and com­pos­ite video. It sup­ports 1080p/60 and 1080p/24 res­o­lu­tions via HDMI. Sound Qual­ity: The BDP-S560 Audio out­puts include HDMI, opti­cal and coax­ial dig­i­tal and 2. 0CH ana­log out­puts. It has inter­nal decod­ing and bit­stream audio out­put for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Mas­ter Audio. This means that Blu-ray player can decode these high-resolution audio for­mats, or you can pass these for­mats via HDMI to your AV receiver to decode. Unfor­tu­nately, the BDP-S560 has no ana­log audio out­puts multi-channel, so that an HDMI con­nec­tion is nec­es­sary to pass decoded high-resolution audio for­mats. A major advan­tage of the BDP-S560, which sets it apart form othre entry level play­ers, is its wire­less func­tion, it sup­ports the 802nd 11n/g/b/a fre­quen­cies and elim­i­nates the need to use a cable to con­nect to the Inter­net. Of course, an Eth­er­net port is avail­able if you can not use the wire­less fea­ture. When con­nected to the Inter­net, you can access BD-Live con­tent, you can find on the Blu-ray selected. BDP-S560 has no inter­nal stor­age mem­ory and a USB device is required if you down­load a BD-Live con­tent. A USB port on the back and front of the reader. Front USB port will sup­port play­back of photo, but not music or movie play­back. This applies to all DLNA-compatible devices, such as a com­puter. It has inter­nal decod­ing Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Mas­ter Audio. The HD can be trans­mit­ted as bit­stream via HDMI. There is a pro­file 2. 0, so that it sup­ports BD Live and Bonus View con­tent. Access to these func­tions is eas­ier with built-in capa­bil­i­ties of Wi-Fi wire­less (802nd 11a/b/g/n). And it can post pho­tos from DLNA-compatible devices. In addi­tion, a Quick Start mode, which means that most Blu-ray to get started in sec­onds. THE CONS: Unfor­tu­nately, the BDP-S560 is no mul­ti­chan­nel ana­log audio out­puts.
